Goodness. I’m so glad I didn’t miss this. I have yet to see his work in person, and I’ve loved it for awhile.

Dancing Needed
photo of Anna May Wong from Piccadilly (she plays a dancer)
I NEED to Dance!
I feel like that kid in Dazed and Confused sitting in the back of the car confessing that he doesn’t really want to be a lawyer, he “wants to dance!”
Or Kevin Bacon in Footloose, in his angry warehouse dance scene, which by the way is HILARIOUS! if you haven’t watched it in awhile.

Clinton Washington Art
Snapped a photo of this metal sculpture guy running to catch the G train (him, not me) at the Clinton Washington stop on Lafayette.

Oh, and this tongue/flower dripping saliva bit is actually a 6 minute video. Yeah, that’s right. Took awhile to load the Quicktime (via Stills Gallery in Australia), but I exercised patience. Do it here:

Oh, Film
In the past I have shot with a Holga, sometimes with a makeshift 35mm adapter made from foam-core and tape. I gave the Diana a try over the fall/winter. These shots are from my first roll through the Diana F with a 35mm back.
It’s kind of ridiculous that I finally got around to developing this roll of film. Also, that photos span a few months. It really took me a few months to shoot this roll of film? So sad.
Digital’s instant gratification really takes away from the anticipation of picking up your developed film. I worked at a photo lab at one time. People get so excited to flip through their photos as soon as they get them in their hand. Ever since I was little I got excited to see my photos. I got to do that today. I miss that about film. The surprises that you just don’t get in this digital age. Way more fun :)

Metropolis
I keep saying words, or writing words, or reading other people’s words, that make me think of this quote -
“THE MEDIATOR BETWEEN HEAD AND HANDS MUST BE THE HEART!”
Maybe I need to watch this movie again. It is great on many levels.
